Abstract

The problems in this study are 1) the results of learning economics are still low, 2) the snowball throwing learning model has never been used and 3) learning is still teacher-centered. This study aims to determine the effect of the snowball throwing learning model on economic learning outcomes in students in class XI IPS even semester at SMA Negeri 16 Bandar Lampung in the 2022/2023 academic year. The method used in research using the experimental method. The population in this study were all students in class XI IPS, totaling 123 students. The sample consisted of class XI IPS 1 as an experimental class using the snowball throwing learning model, totaling 30 people and XI IPS 2 as a control class using conventional learning models, totaling 31 person. Hypothesis testing uses the t-test statistical formula. After testing the hypothesis, it is obtained from calculating the data on economic learning outcomes using statistical formulas, then we get t = 4.18 and ttab = 2.00 at a significant level of 5%. The average economic learning outcomes of students who were taught using the snowball throwing learning model (73.42) were higher than the average economic learning outcomes of students who used conventional learning methods (62.42). So it can be concluded that there is an effect of the snowball throwing learning model on the economic learning outcomes of students in class XI IPS even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year.
