EFEKTIVITAS KONSELING KELOMPOK DENGAN TEKNIK EXPRESSIVE WRITING UNTU MENGURANGI STRESS AKADEMIK PADA PESERTA DIDIK KELAS XI SMA NEGERI 16 BANDAR LAMPUNG

This research aims to measure the effectiveness of group counseling using expressive writing techniques in reducing academic stress in class XI students at SMA Negeri 16 Bandar Lampung. Academic stress is a common problem among students that can affect their well-being and academic performance. Expressive writing techniques, which involve expressive writing to explore and express feelings, are expected to help reduce the impact of stress. This research uses an experimental type of research, with a quasi-experimental model. Participants consisted of 7 students, academic stress measurements were carried out before and after the intervention using the academic stress scale. The results showed that the group that received counseling with expressive writing techniques experienced a significant reduction in academic stress levels. These findings indicate that expressive writing techniques in group counseling can be an effective method in reducing academic stress in students. This is proven by calculating the average value of academic stress level before being given group counseling services using expressive writing techniques which was 134.29 and after being given group counseling services using expressive writing techniques it decreased to 99.86. From the Wilcoxon test carried out using SPSS 21, the output results of the "statistical test" are obtained, so it is known that the asymp (tailed) column is a probability number of p = 0.018; p < 0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, this research provides an important contribution to developing counseling strategies that can be applied in educational environments to support student welfare.
