Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in activity and learning outcomes to analyze the structure of persuasive texts using the Problem based introduction learning model in class VIII E students of SMP Negeri 17 Pesawaran. The type of research used in this research is classroom action research. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 17 Pesawaran. The research subjects were students of class VIII E which consisted of 30 students. The research was conducted in two cycles consisting of four competencies in each cycle, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted collaboratively between researchers and Indonesian language teachers. The data collection techniques use tests, observation and documentation. Analysis of the data used includes presenting data, and drawing conclusions on indicators of success in this study if the activity and student learning outcomes reach 80%. After the research was carried out by applying the problem-based introduction learning model, the results showed that there had been an increase in the results of learning Indonesian in analyzing the structure of persuasive texts. 1) In cycle I where the percentage of teacher activity was 63.64% then increased in cycle II by 86.36%, 2) in cycle I where the percentage of student learning activity was 65.25% then increased in cycle II by 87.5% and 3) the acquisition of student mastery in cycle I which reached 69.05% then increased in cycle II to 84%. From these results it can be concluded that the use of the Problem based introduction learning model can increase activity and learning outcomes analyzing the structure of persuasive text in class VIII E students of SMP Negeri 17 Pesawaran in the 2022/2023 academic year.
