Abstract

This research is motivated by several problems that occur in the learning activities of SD Negeri 5 Sukajawa, so that the activities and learning outcomes obtained by students have not yet reached the predetermined KKM. Based on observations, it is known that the activities of students who are passive in participating in the learning process and the lack of varied models used affect the low learning outcomes and learning activities of students. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an increase in the mind mapping model assisted by audio visual media. This research is included in Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles with 4 stages of activities, namely the planning stage, the implementation stage, the observation stage and the reflection stage. The subject of this research was class IV SDN 5 Sukajawa with a total of 28 students consisting of 15 boys and 13 girls. The results of the study found that there was an increase in learning outcomes obtained as evidenced in the pre-cycle stage before being given action using Audio Visual media, students obtained a classical completeness of 17.65% in a very low category. Then in learning in cycle I there was an increase in student learning outcomes which obtained classical completeness of 52.94% in the medium category. In cycle II, students' learning outcomes increased by obtaining classical completeness of 76.47% in the very high category. In addition, the results of observations of teacher and student activities from cycle I to cycle II have increased. Thus it can be concluded that the use of Audio Visual media can improve the learning outcomes of Indonesian language of fourth grade students of SD Negeri 5 Sukajawa.
