Abstract

This study aims to increase student activity and learning outcomes in science subjects. One of the right models is using the snowball throwing cooperative learning model. This type of research used Classroom Action Research (CAR), which totaled two cycles and was carried out at SDN 1 Kupang Raya for VB class students. The collection technique used was a learning achievement test, observation sheets, and documentation. The research results obtained were (1) teacher activity in cycle I was 57.33% and in cycle II it became 93.33%, (2) student activity in cycle I was 54.28% and in cycle II it became 91.42% , (3) science learning outcomes in the first cycle 74.20% in the second cycle to 93.54%. This shows that the science learning outcomes in the water cycle material using the snowball throwing type cooperative learning model show very good results. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that by applying the snowball throwing cooperative learning model, it can increase the activity and learning outcomes of fifth grade students at SDN 1 Kupang Raya.
