UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS MENGGUNAKAN METODE CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING PADA SISWA KELAS 2 SD NEGERI 1 KEBON JERUK

This study aims to determine and describe the use of the CTL method (Context, teaching, learning) to improve the writing skills of class II students at SD Negeri 1 Kebon Jeruk Bandar Lampung. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) which consists of 4 stages namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were class II A students, totaling 27 students consisting of 12 boys and 15 girls. Data collection methods are carried out through observation, tests, questionnaires and documentation. The type of data analysis used is qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Based on the results of data analysis in this study, it can be concluded that the application of the CTL method can improve the writing skills of Class II students at SD Negeri 1 Kebon Jeruk. Students' writing ability has increased which is marked by increased student learning completeness. Student completeness in cycle I was 70.33% with an assessment category of C (enough) and an average score of 76.87 but this acquisition was considered incomplete because it had not reached the standard of completeness, namely ≥80%. This condition is different from the acquisition of cycle II, where students' reading comprehension skills increased with an average score of 84.58 with a completeness percentage of 87.5%. Thus the students' reading comprehension ability is seen as having reached completeness in accordance with predetermined standards, namely ≥80%.
