Abstract

This research was carried out based on the problems found in grade 4 of SDN 2 Setia Bakti namely low social attitudes and social studies learning outcomes. One learning model that can make students active in learning and able to improve students' social attitudes in learning social studies is the numbered heads together (NHT) learning model. The purpose of this study was to improve social attitudes and social studies learning outcomes for grade 4 students at SDN 2 Setia Bakti. This type of research is a collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research subjects were 4th grade students at SDN 2 Setia Bakti, totaling 27 students. This research was conducted in two action cycles. Each cycle consists of three meetings. In each cycle there are activities of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The instruments used were observation sheets, questionnaire sheets and test sheets. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The research results obtained were (1) students' social attitudes in cycle I after the implementation of the numbered heads together learning model amounted to 71.61% and increased to 81.67% in cycle II and (2) social studies learning outcomes of students in cycle I after being taught using the numbered heads together learning model obtained a completeness percentage of 70.37% and increased in cycle II of 88.89%. Based on these results it can be concluded that by applying the numbered head together learning model it can improve social attitudes and social studies learning outcomes for class 4 students at SDN 2 Setia Bakti in the 2022/2023 academic year.
