Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve social studies learning outcomes using the picture and picture model based on PowerPoint media for fifth grade students at SD Negeri 1 Kebon Jeruk for the 2022/2023 academic year. The problems in this study are 1) student learning outcomes are still low, 2) the use of learning media is not maximal yet 3) the use of learning models is not yet varied and 4) the lack of student activity in learning. One of the innovative learning models is using the picture and picture model based on PowerPoint media in order to improve student learning outcomes. This type of research uses Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out collaboratively in two cycles where each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The subjects in this study were 23 students of class VB SD Negeri 1 Kebon Jeruk. Data collection techniques in this study were in the form of observation sheets, learning achievement tests, and documentation. Completeness of learning outcomes in this study is to achieve a percentage of 80% of the total number of students who score above the KKM. The research results obtained were (1) social studies learning activities for class VB SD Negeri 1 Kebon Jeruk Bandar Lampung after applying picture and picture learning based on PowerPoint media each cycle experienced an increase, where in cycle I obtained a percentage of 62.5% while in cycle II obtained a percentage of 88.89%. and (2) social studies learning outcomes for class 5 students at SD Negeri 1 Kebon Jeruk Bandar Lampung after applying picture and picture learning based on PowerPoint media each cycle experienced an increase, where in the pre-cycle the learning mastery was 52.17%, then it increased in cycle I with obtained a percentage of 73.91% and increased again in cycle II by obtaining a percentage of 86.96%. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that by applying the picture and picture learning model based on PowerPoint media, it can improve social studies learning outcomes for fifth grade students at SD Negeri 1 Kebon Jeruk for the 2022/2023 academic year.
