Abstract

This research was conducted based on the main problem that occurred in grade 3 students at SD Insan Mandiri, namely the low student learning activity in learning led to low learning outcomes for students as well. One of the appropriate learning strategies to improve Civics learning activities and outcomes is to use the power of two learning strategy. The purpose of this research is to increase the activities and learning outcomes of Civics students in grade 3 of SD Insan Mandiri. This type of research used Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out at SD Insan Mandiri in grade 3 students, totaling 25 students. PTK research was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Data collection techniques in this study were in the form of observation sheets, learning achievement tests, and documentation. The research results obtained were (1) student activity in cycle I using the power of two learning strategy 67.13% to 85.27% in cycle II and (2) PPKn learning outcomes in cycle I after being taught using the learning strategy power of two 68% to 88% in cycle II. This shows that the learning outcomes of Civics in the material forms of diversity of individual characteristics in everyday life using the power of two learning strategy show good results. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that applying the power of two learning strategy can increase the activities and learning outcomes of grade 3 students at SD Insan Mandiri for the 2022/2023 academic year.
