Abstract

This study aims to increase student activity and learning outcomes by using the Group Investigation learning model for fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Gedong Air in science lessons on the properties of objects and changes in the form of objects.. This research was conducted with a class action research method carried out in two cycles conducted in class V SD Negeri 2 Gedong Air with a total of 28 student.  During the implementation of class action research, it can be explained that the results of increasing student activity and learning outcomes from the pre-cycle are still low or have not reached the KKM. After using Learning Model Group Investigation in cycle I, it was reached students’ learning activity to 70% in learning process. In cycle II, it was reached to 84% and both of the results of the cycle I and cycle II is 64% and 86%.. Based on this, it can be concluded that the application of the Group Investigation learning model can improve the activity and learning outcomes of fifth grade science students at SD Negeri 2 Gedong Air.
