Abstract

The main problems in the research are 1) low learning outcomes, 2) students do not fully understand the material, 3) lack of active student participation and 4) lack of media use in social studies learning at SDN 01 Setia Negara. This study aims to determine the increase in social studies activity and learning outcomes through the visualization auditory kinesthetic (VAK) learning model for fourth grade students at SDN 01 Setia Negara. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) which consists of 4 stages namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The research subjects were grade IV students, totaling 25 students. Mastery learning outcomes in this study is to achieve the acquisition of a percentage of 80% of the total number of students and the average student activity score each cycle has increased. The results showed that 1) student activity increased from an average of 7.33 (quite active) in cycle I to 7.85 (active) in cycle II, where an increase in score was obtained from cycle I to cycle II of 0.52. 2) student learning outcomes achieved an average score of 66.60 in cycle I and increased to 75 in cycle II, where an increase in the average score of learning outcomes was obtained by 8.40. Student completeness also increased where in cycle I the percentage was 64% and cycle II was 84%, where an increase in the percentage of learning completeness from cycle I to cycle II was obtained by 20%. So it can be concluded that learning by applying the visualization auditory kinesthetic (VAK) learning model can increase the activity and learning outcomes of social studies class IV students at SDN 01 Setia Negara.
