PENGARUH PROPAGANDA JEPANG TERHADAP MASYARAKAT INDONESIA TAHUN 1942-1945

Japan is one of the countries in East Asia. The success of the Japanese Nation due to the Meiji Restoration resulted in progress in various fields of life. Japan's heyday during the Tenno Period gave rise to the desire to become an imperialist country with the ideology of fascism and carry out Hakko I-Chiu politics to launch its propaganda to countries in other Asian regions including Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to analyse the reasons why Japan carried out propaganda and the ways or efforts of propaganda carried out by Japan against the Indonesian people in 1942-1945. The research method used is the historical research method. The step in the historical research method are heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of the research obtained data that the reason Japan conducted propaganda against the Indonesian people was due to the Meiji Restoration in 1868. The methods or efforts made by Japan in propaganda against the Indonesian people were collaborating with Indonesian national figures, collaborating with Islamic figures, establishing semi-military and military organisations, conducting training centres for youth, education and culture and mobilising romusha.
