Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that cause students to do Self Injury. To explain the forms of Self Injury committed by students. To analyze the lives of students who do Self Injury in the home and school environment. The research method used in this research is a case study. The data collection instruments used are observation and interviews to find out more about the Self Injury behavior of students. The type of data analysis used is qualitative data analysis. Based on the results of data analysis in this study, it can be concluded that life in the family and the social environment of students can influence students to do Self Injury. Because families that are too favoritistic and authoritarian parenting, can affect the emotions and way of thinking of students. So that students cannot express their emotions properly. So that the role of counseling teachers in schools is needed to be able to understand students and then be able to make preventive efforts for students who take dangerous actions for themselves.
