Abstract

Motivation has an important role in the learning process both teachers and students benefit from teaching and learning when they are motivated. To follow and increase students' enthusiasm for learning and encourage them to take part in learning activities, teachers need to provide motivation to learn in students. Guidance and counseling is the provision of services to students, both individually and in groups so that they are free and develop optimally, both personal, vocational, learning and social guidance. This approach is that the researcher uses a qualitative descriptive method, which is a scientific research method aimed at solving existing problems in the current situation by collecting data with the intention of creating an objective picture of a situation. Increasing student motivation is carried out by forming a study group. In the learning process, the implementation of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) is applied, with the aim of directing the development and abilities of students towards positive thinking processes about increasing student learning motivation which is used in changing the views, attitudes, ways of thinking and perceptions, and students' irrational beliefs to become rational as well as in order to increase students' motivation to participate in the learning process it is necessary to make students pay more attention to what is being taught, build self-confidence in their learning abilities, and give assignments to them. Factors causing students' lack of enthusiasm for learning include the absence of student obligations towards the assignments given by the teacher, related to the lack of motivation to learn for students who lack enthusiasm for learning. The function of giving Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) can overcome students who experience a lack of motivation to learn is to change the views, attitudes, ways of thinking, perceptions, and irrational beliefs of students to become rational. "Application of the Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) Approach in Increasing Learning Motivation in Class XI Students of SMK Negeri 9 Bandar Lampung Academic Year 2022/2023", It is better if the teacher is always active in providing Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) to students. Guidance and counseling teachers know more about the factors that cause students to experience a lack of learning motivation starting from Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy.
