The role of perception in the adjustment of majors is seen from the students' thinking patterns that how students choose decisions that are in accordance with their perceptions of the majors. Career planning adjusts to what the choice of majors at school. Through career decisions made by each student, major adjustment is a matter related to perceptions and outcomes of career planning decisions. Students who are able to adjust the results of career planning decisions will greatly affect the suitability of the majors they choose.
The problem with this research is that students do not believe in their ability to choose majors so that they choose an action that is not appropriate, this is known from student achievement which shows a decline. Students often choose a major or field of study because they are carried away and join their friends or choose a field that is currently popular, students do not think about what to become after finishing school or further with their educational background. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between student perceptions and career planning with the suitability of majors in class XII students of SMK Negeri 4 Bandar Lampung.
The method used in this research is quantitative with a correlational approach. Where the researcher focuses on the assessment of correlations and variables. The data collection tool uses the lift method as the main method, as well as documentation and literature study as a complementary method. The population in this study was class XII students by taking a sample of 100 student.
