Abstract

: This research is motivated by the low interest and learning outcomes of mathematics in fourth grade students at SDN 3 Sukaraja, besides that teachers have not used interesting learning models in the learning process. This study aims to determine the application of the Problem Based Learning model in increasing interest and learning outcomes in mathematics in fourth grade students at SDN 3 Sukaraja. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design with the Kemmis & Taggart model which consists of 4 stages, namely the planning stage, the implementation stage, the observation stage, and the reflection stage which is carried out in two cycles. The subjects used in this study were fourth grade students of SDN 3 Sukaraja, totaling 18 students. The types of data used are quantitative and qualitative data. The results showed that an increase in the percentage of students' interest in learning in the pre-cycle was 50.69% with moderate criteria, increased in the first cycle to 67.77% with sufficient criteria, and increased again in the second cycle to 77.36% with good criteria. The average value of the class in the final evaluation of the learning cycle I reached the percentage of completeness of 77.78%, and increased in the second cycle the percentage of completeness of 88.89%. So it can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning model can increase the interest and learning outcomes of mathematics in the fourth grade students of SDN 3 Sukaraja.
