Abstract

The problem in this research is the low learning activity and learning outcomes for grade IV SD Negeri 3 Sukaraja. This study aims to improve learning activities and learning outcomes with discovery learning models using image media for fourth grade students of SD Negeri 3 Sukaraja. This research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research procedure uses two cycles and each cycle has four meetings, each cycle is carried out through four stages, namely: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The results showed that there was an increase in student learning activities from cycle I to cycle II. In the first cycle, it got an average score of 6.71 with the criteria of being less active and in the second cycle it got an average score of 7.75 with the active criteria. So in cycle I and cycle II there was an increase of 1.04. Likewise with learning outcomes, in the pre-cycle an average score of 63 with a completeness percentage of 30%, in the first cycle there were 11 students who completed getting an average score of 69.5 with a completeness percentage of 45%, and in the second cycle there were 17 students. complete learning get an average value of 79 with the criteria of completeness 85%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the discovery learning model can improve learning activities and student learning outcomes in the fourth grade science learning of SD Negeri 3 Sukaraja.
