Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the character of responsibility in civics learning for grade IV students of SD Negeri 6 Metro Pusat and analyze the inhibiting factors in implementing the character of responsibility in civics learning for grade IV students of SD Negeri 6 Metro Pusat. In the research to be carried out by the author, using qualitative research with qualitative descriptive methods. The results of this study concluded that the principal and teachers implemented responsibility character education by implementing it to themselves which then became an example for their students.  In addition, the obstacle faced in learning in terms of the character of responsibility is that class IV teachers at SD Negeri 6 Metro Pusat tend not to develop a teacher's professional ability to manage learning using media, learning methods and conduct attitude assessments in lesson activities. The media in schools is limited and learning methods have not varied, and communication with parents is still limited. Another factor is coming from the family, since character education will not work without the support of the learners' parents.
