Abstract

This study aims to improve science learning outcomes through the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) class IV learning model of SD Negeri 1 Langkapura. The type of research conducted is Classroom Action Research (CAR) using quantitative descriptive methods. The subjects in this study were grade IV C students in even semesters consisting of 16 boys and 12 girls at SD Negeri 1 Langkapura. This research was carried out in 2 cycles using the learning model developed by Arikunto. Each cycle consists of four stages of activity, namely the planning stage, the implementation stage, the observation stage and the reflection stage. The data collection instrument used was test questions to measure science learning outcomes. Based on the results of data analysis in this study, it can be concluded that the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) learning model can improve science learning outcomes for fourth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Langkapura. This is evidenced by the results of the research in the second cycle, it can be seen for the category of interpretation of the effectiveness of n-gain 74% or can be said to be quite effective while the distribution of the n-gain score is at 0.7 or can be said to be moderate.
