Abstract

This study aims to examine how to improve student learning outcomes on the science content of IV grade at SD Negeri 2 Beringin Kencana using Contextual learning. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK). The subjects of the study were 25 students of class IV at SD Negeri 2 Beringin. The study consists of pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II. Data analysis techniques use qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis. The results showed that there was an increase in learning outcomes in the science content of grade IV students at SD Negeri 2 Beringin Kencana using contextual learning. The increase can be seen from the average score of students in the pre-cycle, namely (58) who are still in the "less" category. In the first cycle, the scores of students who reached KKM were only 7 students (28%) of the average scores of students on the first cycle test, namely (58) who were still in the "less" category. In cycle II, the value of students who reached KKM, the value of students who reached KKM was 19 students (76%) from the average score of students in the second cycle test, namely (71.4) who were already included in the "enough" category. The average learning activity of students in cycle I was 52% and in cycle II was 84, an increase of 32%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that Contextual learning improves the learning outcomes of science students in grade IV SD Negeri 2 Beringin Kencana.
