Abstract

This study aims to develop animation-based learning videos on probability material for class VIII of SMP Negeri 23 Bandar Lampung. The media was developed using the powtoon application, a web-based application that allows users to create animated presentations using interesting features such as hand animation, cartoon animation, more lively transition effects, and easy timeline settings. This study uses the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Overall, the study shows that animation-based learning videos meet good standards for use in mathematics learning in class VIII. Based on validation data, material validation got an average score of 4.19 with the "Valid" criteria, language validation got an average score of 4.41 with the "Valid" criteria, and media validation got an average score of 4.28 with the "Valid" criteria. Student responses to animation-based learning videos got an average score of 4.43 with the "Interesting" criteria, and subject teacher responses to LKPD got an average score of 4.6 with the "Practical" criteria. The results of the animation-based learning video trial showed classical completeness of 80% or were in the "High" category. Animation-based learning videos on the material of probability were declared valid, practical, interesting, and applicable and could facilitate students' mathematical problem-solving abilities.
