Abstract

This research is motivated by motivation and student learning outcomes in social studies subjects are still relatively low. The learning model that is suitable to overcome these problems is a collaborative learning model of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type that uses audiovisual video media. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in students' motivation and learning outcomes by using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) collaborative learning model with video-based audiovisual media. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR). The subjects of this study were the fifth grade students of SDN Sumber Agung, totaling 26 students. Data collection techniques in this study were observation sheets, questionnaires, learning outcomes tests, and documentation. Completeness of motivation and learning outcomes in this study is an increase rate of 80%. The results showed that students' social studies learning motivation increased by 76.9% in the first cycle and 92.3% in the second cycle. Meanwhile, students' social studies learning outcomes were fully achieved in the first cycle with a percentage of 53.8% and increased in the second cycle with a percentage of 87%. It can be concluded that the use of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) collaborative learning model increases the motivation and learning outcomes of 5th graders at SDN Sumber Agung.
