Abstract

The problems that occurred in this study in class II SD Negeri 1 Tekorejo include, namely, students do not have textbooks for daily use, then the lack of student learning facilities at school, especially in class, is the cause of the low understanding of students in social studies learning resulting in the results low student learning. The author uses an environment-based learning strategy in this study which is expected to improve social studies learning outcomes for second grade students of SD Negeri 1 Tekorejo. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out collaboratively. The subjects in this study were second grade students of SD Negeri 1 Tekorejo, totaling 23 students. Action research was carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings. To obtain data in this study the authors used student activity observation sheets, tests and documentation. From the results of the study, in the first cycle the student learning completeness achieved was 79.16%, and the second cycle was 91.66%, where the increase in the percentage of student learning outcomes from cycle I to cycle II reached 12.5%. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that student learning outcomes in social studies subjects can be increased through the application of environment-based learning to second grade students of SD Negeri 1 Tekorejo.
