Abstract

This research is motivated by the need to increase the interest and learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SD Negeri Trans Batumarta V, the results of observations show that there are problems with student learning outcomes, especially in science subjects. The problem that arises is the low interest and learning outcomes of students with heat material and its transfer. This is indicated by the average student on the material is still below the KKM (70.0). The purpose of this study is to analyze whether the implementation of learning using the Simulation Method can increase interest in learning science in fifth grade students of SD Negeri Trans Batumarta V in the 2021/2022 academic year. Then observe whether the implementation of learning using the Simulation Method can improve science learning outcomes in fifth grade students of SD Negeri Trans Batumarta V. Then describe whether the implementation of learning using the Simulation Method can increase interest and science learning outcomes in fifth grade students of SD Negeri Trans Batumarta V. This researcher uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles, each cycle consists of 4 stages, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subject of the study focused on students of class V B with a total of 16 students. The results of increasing student learning can be seen from the results and learning interests of students. Student learning outcomes have increased, namely in the first cycle 68.75% and the second cycle increased to 81.25%. Then the interest in learning of students also increased, namely in the first cycle 66.40% and in the second cycle it increased to 88.92%. Based on these results, it shows that "There is an increase in the interest and learning outcomes of fifth grade students at SD Negeri Trans Batumarta V for the 2021/2022 academic year by applying the Simulation learning method".
