Abstract

The main problems in this research are (1) the cooperative learning model of the talking stick type has never been applied to the PPKN learning process in class V at SDN 1 Kecapi South Lampung; (2) the learning model used is still lacking and (3) the PPKN learning outcomes are still low. This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of elementary school students by using the talking stick type cooperative learning model in Citizenship Education subjects on social and cultural diversity in the fifth grade community of SD Negeri 1 Kecapi, South Lampung. This type of research is Classroom Action Research that uses qualitative data, which includes planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results of research conducted in class V SD Negeri 1 Kecapi South Lampung, with research subjects 22 students and homeroom teachers can be said to be going well. The application of the talking stick type cooperative learning model can increase student activity and student learning outcomes, it is evidenced by the increasing results of student activity observations in the first cycle reaching an average score of 6.84 with a category (very poor) and in the second cycle increasing to an average of 6. the average score is 8.00 with the category (very good). Student learning outcomes with a KKM score of 65, increased starting from the pre-cycle of students who completed 7 or 31.81%, increased in the first cycle of 16 students or 72.72% and the last increase in the second cycle was to 20 students or 90 ,90%. The change in the class average value in the pre-cycle stage was 57.72, increased in the first cycle to 71.81 and the last increase in the second cycle was 89.45.
