Abstract

The problems in this research are 1) The students' learning outcomes in mathematics subjects are still low, 2) Lack of interest in learning mathematics 3) Students quickly get bored in learning 4) The use of media in learning is not optimal 5) Lack of student motivation to learn. This research aims to determine the improvement in Mathematics learning outcomes in the use of PowerPoint-based audio visual media for Class V Students at SDN 1 Beringin Raya for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. This research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which consists of 2 cycles, each cycle containing a series of activities, each consisting of 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation/observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 30 class V students consisting of 15 male students and 15 female students. This Classroom Action Research (PTK) uses data collection methods, namely observation techniques, test techniques, documentation techniques. Data analysis was carried out by comparing the results of Mathematics learning for each cycle, indicating the improvements obtained which were analyzed quantitatively. The completeness of learning outcomes in this research is to achieve a percentage gain of 70% of the total number of students and the average score of student learning outcomes in each cycle has increased. The research results showed that 1) student learning outcomes achieved an average score on the Pre-Test of 56.66 Pre-cycle. In Cycle I the student's Post-Test score increased to 70.66 and in Cycle II the Post-Test student increased by 82.00, where an average increase in learning outcome score was obtained by 82. Student learning completion also increased, whereas in the Pre-cycle the percentage was equal to 33.33%, in cycle I the percentage was 56.66% and cycle II was 83.33%, where an increase in the percentage of learning completeness from cycle I to cycle II was 26.67%. 2) Student learning outcomes increased on average from 60 in the very low category in cycle I to 71 in the medium category in cycle II, where an increase in score from cycle I to cycle II was obtained by 0.84. So it can be concluded that learning using PowerPoint-based audio visual media can improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class V students at Sdn 1 Beringin Raya for the 2022/2023 academic year.
