Abstract

The background in this study is the less than optimal student learning outcomes. The learning model that is considered appropriate to solve this problem is the think pair share learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in social studies learning outcomes after following the think pair share learning model. This type of research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects in this study were 38 students of class VA SDN 2 Sumberejo. Data collection techniques in this study were in the form of observation sheets, learning outcomes tests, and documentation. Completeness of learning outcomes in this study is to achieve a percentage gain of 80%. Based on the results of the research conducted, it showed an increase in using the think pair share learning model. In the pre-cycle the percentage of learning completeness is 47.37%, the first cycle is 65.79% and the second cycle is 89.47%. So it can be concluded that the application of the think pair share learning model can improve social studies learning outcomes for fifth graders at SDN 2 Sumberejo Kemiling.
