Abstract

The problem that is the subject of this research is the low student learning outcomes, learning has never been applied to the SQ3R model (survey, question, read, recite, and review). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the SQ3R model (survey, question, read, recite, and review) on social studies learning outcomes for class VIII at UPT SMP N 1 Sukoharjo in the 2021/2022 academic year.

The method used in this research is the experimental method. The population in this study were all social studies students of class VIII at UPT SMP N 1 Sukoharjo totaling 255 students, the sample consisted of two classes, namely class VIII A and class VIII B, where class VIII A was the experimental class, which consisted of 32 students and class VIII B as the experimental class. control class with a total of 32 students. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling technique. The instrument in this study used multiple choice tests and hypothesis testing in this study using the formula.

Testing the hypothesis using the statistical formula thit where the value of thit = 5.63 and the t distribution table at a significant level of 5% is known to be tdaf is t (1-1/2α) = 2.00 so it is proven that thit>tdaf means the hypothesis Ho is rejected, meaning Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of using the SQ3R (survey, question, read, recite, and review) learning model on social studies learning outcomes for class VIII at UPT SMP N 1 Sukoharjo in the 2021/2022 academic year.
