Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII SMP Kartika II-2 Bandar Lampung. This study aims to find out and describe the application of the Flipped Classroom learning model to improve mathematics learning outcomes in class VIII students at SMP Kartika II-2 Bandar Lampung and to improve mathematics learning outcomes through the application of the Flipped Classroom learning model to class VIII students at SMP Kartika II-2 Bandar Lampung. The type of research conducted is Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this study were 24 students of class VIII SMP Kartika II-2 Bandar Lampung. The research design used is the Kemmis and Mc model. Taggart which contains the stages of planning, implementing actions and observing, and reflecting. The data collection instruments used were essay questions to measure Mathematics learning outcomes and observation sheets to measure Mathematics learning activities. The type of data analysis used is qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Based on the results of data analysis in this study, the following conclusions can be drawn 1) The Flipped Classroom learning model can improve mathematics learning outcomes for class VIII students of SMP Kartika II-2 Bandar Lampung in the 2022/2023 academic year. 2) Improving students' mathematics learning outcomes by applying the Flipped Classroom learning model from cycle I with an average of 68.75 to cycle II with an average of 78.75. Thus there is an increase of 10%.
