Abstract

The research aims to determine (1) to determine the quality of the PQ4R-based mathematics module in terms of the validity of teaching materials. (2) To find out the quality of the PQ4R-based mathematics module in terms of the practicality of teaching materials. (3) To determine the effectiveness of the PQ4R-based mathematics module in terms of students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This research is development research. The stages in the development are analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Product validation is carried out by 6 expert lecturers in accordance with their fields. Practicality questionnaire to measure the response of class XI students at SMK Negeri 7 Bandar Lampung in product trials and learning achievement tests to measure the effectiveness of the module as teaching material. The results of material validation on the aspects of content quality, coverage provisions and PQ4R obtained a value of 3.87 with a percentage of 96.75% with valid criteria. Media validation both on the paper size in the module, the module skin design, and the module content design obtained a value of 3.79 with a percentage of 94.75% with valid criteria. Language validation in the aspect of accuracy of sentence structure, understanding of messages and information as well as being straightforward obtains a score of 4 with a percentage of 100% with valid criteria. After using the module that had been developed, the students experienced an increase in mastery of mathematics learning outcomes in the flat sided geometric material to 74.19% of the number of students and there was a positive response from students who stated the practical module with an average student questionnaire of 3.93 with a percentage of 98, 33%. Thus the mathematics module based on PQ4R geometry transformation material is feasible to use as teaching material.
