PENGARUH MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMAIKA SISWA KELAS VIII SEMESTER GENAP SMP NEGERI 3 BANJAR BARU TAHUN PELAJARAN 2020/2021

This study examines problems related to students' mathematical problem solving abilities that have not been maximized. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model on mathematical problem solving abilities. This study uses an experimental method with a population of all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Banjar Baru for the 2020/2021 academic year. The sample in this study consisted of two classes, namely class VIII A, which consisted of 30 students as the experimental class and class VIII C, which consisted of 29 students as the control class. The sample was taken using the Cluster Rendom Sampling technique with a lottery procedure. The measurement of the variables used a test in the form of an essay as many as five questions which were first tested for validity and reliability, testing the hypothesis using . From the results of hypothesis testing using , the value of is obtained. In the t distribution table with a significant level of 5%, it is known that means which is , so it can be concluded that "there is an effect of the Discovery Learning model on the mathematical problem solving ability of class VIII students in even semesters of SMP Negeri 3 New Banjars for the 2020/2021 school year.
