Abstract

The research focuses on problems related to the low mathematical communication skills of class VIII students in the even semester of SMP Negeri 32 Bandar Lampung. Based on this, the study aims to determine the effect of the Blended Learning learning model on the mathematical communication skills of class VIII Even Semester students of SMP Negeri 32 Bandar Lampung in the 2021/2022 academic year. The method used in this research is the experimental method. The population in the study was all students of class VIII even semester of SMP Negeri 32 Bandar Lampung for the academic year 2021/2022, which were spread over 10 classes with a total of 317 students. From the population, two classes were taken as samples, namely class VIII.7 which collected 31 students as the control class and VIII.9 which collected 31 students as the experimental class. The sampling technique used is Cluster Random Sampling. The measurement variable uses a test of 6 things that are first tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used simple statistical analysis with the ttes formula. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using t-test, it is obtained that thit = 3.36 and from the distribution table at a significant level of 5% with tdaf = t(1-1/2α) = 1.67 so that it is known that ttes > tdaf or it can be written 3.36 > 1 ,67. Thus it can be said "there is a difference in the average communication skills of students who apply the Blended Learning learning model by applying the conventional learning model in class VIII even semester of SMP Negeri 32 Bandar Lampung".
