The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using handout media on the mathematical problem solving ability of the odd semester XII graders of SMA Negeri 12 Bandar Lampung in the academic year 2022/2023. This research is in the form of an experiment, with a population of all 12th grade students of SMA Negeri 12 Bandar Lampung. This study used a sample of 2 classes, class XII.IPA-2 with 31 students as the experimental class and XII.IPA-5 with 31 students as the control class, determined by cluster random sampling technique. Data collection in this study was carried out by using an essay test technique as many as 5 questions that had been declared valid and reliable. After the data is normal and homogeneous, the hypothesis is tested using the t test and the value t_hit = 5.28 is obtained. From the t distribution table at a significant level of 5%, it is known that t_daf = 1.67. This means that t_hit>t_daf is 5.28>1.67, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of the use of media handouts on the mathematical problem solving ability of class XII odd semester students of SMA Negeri 12 Bandar Lampung in the academic year 2022/2023.
