PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN IMPROVE TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATKA

The problem studied in this research is that the students' mathematical problem solving ability is not maximal. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the IMPROVE learning model on the mathematical problem solving abilities of Class VIII Odd Semester students of SMP Negeri 2 Negeri Agung in the academic year 2021/2022. This research is using experimental method. The population in this study were all grade VIII odd semester students of SMP Negeri 2 Negeri Agung which consisted of 10 classes with a total of 293 students, while 2 classes were taken, namely class VIII.4 as the experimental class and class VIII.7 as the control class. The students' mathematical problem solving ability was measured by a test in the form of an essay as many as five questions which were first tested for validity and reliability. Hypothesis testing using t test. From the results of hypothesis testing obtained thit = 6.70 with a significant level of 5% known tdaf = t(1-α) = 1.67. This means that thit > tdaf is 6.70 > 1.67, so that the average mathematical problem solving ability of students who use IMPROVE is greater than the average mathematical problem solving ability of students who do not use IMPROVE (conventional) in learning mathematics in class VIII Odd Semester of SMP Negeri 2 Negeri Agung for the academic year 2021/2022. In this case, it can be concluded that there is an effect of using the IMPROVE learning model on the mathematical problem solving abilities of students of Class VIII Odd Semester SMP Negeri 2 Negeri Agung for the academic year 2021/2022.
