Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an effect of the Student Team Achievement (STAD) learning model on the mathematical problem solving abilities of eighth grade students in the Odd Semester of SMP PGRI 2 Bandar Lampung in the 2021/2022 academic year. This study uses experimental methods, as well as data analysis using statistical formulas. The population in this study were all students of class VIII Odd Semester SMP PGRI 2 Bandar Lampung which consisted of 2 classes with a total of 148 students, while the sample was taken 2 classes, namely class VIII B as the experimental class, and class VIII D as the control class. After normal and homogeneous data, the results of hypothesis testing using the t-hit statistical formula obtained the value of t = 3.94. From the t distribution table at a significant level of 5%, it is known that t = t(1-α) = 2.00 t > t so that it can be concluded that "There is an effect of the application of Student Team Achievement (STAD) learning on the mathematical problem solving abilities of eighth graders in odd semesters. SMP PGRI 2 Bandar Lampung Academic Year 2021/2022”.
