The purpose of the study was to compare the effectiveness of the Think Talk Write (TTW) and Think Pair Share (TPS) learning models on students' mathematical communication skills. This research is an experimental study with a research population of all students of class VIII and a sample of 2 classes, namely class VIII.-3 as the experimental class I, totaling 30 students who apply the TTW model in learning and class VIII-4 as the experimental class II totaling 32 students who in learning to apply the TPS model. The sample was taken using the Cluster Random Sampling technique with a lottery procedure. Students' mathematical communication skills were measured by a test in the form of an essay as many as 6 questions that had been analyzed for validity and reliability. Hypothesis testing using t-test, because it is proven normal and homogeneous. After the t test, it is continued by looking at the effectiveness of the model with a relative efficiency test. From the results of hypothesis testing obtained t_hit = 2.09. From the t distribution table at a significant level of 5%, it is known that t_daf = 1.07 means t_hit > t_daf, so it can be concluded that "there is a difference in the average mathematical communication ability of students who apply the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model to those who apply the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model. Pair Share (TPS) in class VIII even semester UPT SMP Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung”. This situation can be seen from the average value of students' mathematical communication skills in the experimental class I with an average value of 76.07 and higher than the experimental class II with an average value of 65.94. and supported by the acquisition of the results of the relative efficiency test which also shows the value of r < 1 which is 0.77.
