PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN STUDENT FACILITATOR AND EXPLAINING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VlI

This study aims to determine differences in problem-solving abilities in mathematics subjects between students who are taught using the Student Facilitator and Explaining type of cooperative learning model and students who are taught using conventional models in class VIII SMP odd semesters in the 2021/2022 academic year Kotaagung Kecamatan . This research is a quasi-experimental research. The population in this study were two class VIII Kotaagung Kotaagung District, Tanggamus Regency in the 2021/2022 academic year, amounting to 217 people. While the sample used in this study amounted to 62 people. The research sample was determined by random sampling technique. Collecting data using a mathematical problem solving test with a description of 5 items. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and independent t-test. The results showed that there were differences in mathematical problem solving abilities between students who followed the Student Facilitator and Explaining type of cooperative learning model and students who took conventional learning models in class VIII junior high school students in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year in Kotaagung, Kotaagung District. The average mathematical problem-solving ability using the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model is 72.98, which is higher than the control group's average mathematical problem-solving ability, which is 72.47. The existence of a significant difference indicates that learning using the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model has a positive effect on problem solving abilities in mathematics subjects compared to conventional learning models.
