PENGARUH MODEL IMPROVE TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIII SEMESTER GENAP SMP GAJAH MADA BANDAR LAMPUNG TAHUN PELAJARAN 2021/2022

This research is motivated by the low ability of students' mathematical problem solving caused by the use of an inappropriate learning model. This study aims to analyze the average difference in students' mathematical problem solving abilities using the Improve model with those using conventional learning models in class VIII even semester of SMP Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung in the 2021/2022 school year. This research is an experimental study with a population of all students of class VIII SMP Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung with the research sample being class VIII A, totaling 26 students as the experimental class and class VIII B, totaling 26 students as the control class. The sample was taken using cluster random sampling technique. Students' mathematical problem solving ability is measured by a test in the form of an essay as many as 5 questions that have been tested for validity and reliability. Hypothesis testing using t-test with a value of = 8.42. From the t distribution table at a significant level of 5% it is known = 1.67, meaning >, so it can be concluded that the average mathematical problem solving ability of students who use the Improve model is higher than those using conventional learning models in class VIII even semester of SMP Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung for the academic year 2021/2022. Thus, there is an effect of the Improve model on the mathematical problem solving ability of class VIII students in the even semester of SMP Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung in the 2021/2022 academic year.
