Abstract

The research problem is related to the less than optimal mathematical problem solving ability of students. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the Problem Posing learning model using the Moodle application on the mathematical problem solving abilities of class VIII students in the even semester of SMPN 13 Bandar Lampung in the 2020/2021 academic year. The study used an experimental method with a population of all class VIII SMPN 13 Bandar Lampung which consisted of 10 classes with a total of 293 students, while 2 classes were taken, namely class VIII 3 as the experimental class and class VIII 5 as the control class. The ability to solve mathematical problems is measured by a test in the form of an essay as many as 5 questions which are first tested for validity and reliability. Hypothesis testing using t test, obtained the value of . From the t distribution table at a significant level of 5%, it is known that the meaning is , so it can be concluded that there is an effect of the Problem Posing learning model using the Moodle application on the mathematical problem solving abilities of class VIII students in the even semester of SMPN 13 Bandar Lampung in the 2020/2021 academic year. The effect can be seen from the average mathematical problem solving ability of students who use the Problem Posing learning model with the Moodle application, which is greater than the average mathematical problem solving ability of students who use the conventional learning model, namely 79.46 > 70.03.
