Research determine the effect of using audio-visual media based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) on the mathematical problem solving abilities of class VIII students in the 2nd semester of UPT SMP Negeri 35 Bandar Lampung in the 2021/2022 academic year. This research is an experimental study with a population of all students in the class VIII even semester UPT SMP Negeri 35 Bandar Lampung and a sample of 2 classes, that is class VIII C as the experimental class totaling 27 students, and class VIII D as the control class totaling 27 students. The sample were taken using the Cluster Random Sampling technique with a lottery procedure. Students' mathematical problem solving ability were measured by a test in the form of an essay as many as 5 questions that had been tested for validity and reliability. Testing the research hypothesis using the t-test, because the data proved normal and homogeneous with a value of = 2,85 and at a significant level of 5%, it was obtained =1,67 that is so that was rejected, that is was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that "There is an effect of using audio-visual media based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) on the mathematical problem solving abilities of class VIII students in the even semester of UPT SMP Negeri 35 Bandar Lampung in the academic year 2021/2022". In situation can be seen from the average value of the mathematical problem solving ability of experimental class students with an average value of 80,81 and higher than the control class with an average value of 70,44.
