The purpose of this study was to analyze the average difference in students' mathematical problem solving abilities using the Means Ends Analysis (MEA) learning model and those using the conventional learning model of class VIII odd semester students of SMP PGRI 2 Bandar Lampung in the academic year 2021/20211. This research is using experimental method. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP PGRI 2 Bandar Lampung, while the samples were taken as many as 2 classes, namely class VIII A as the experimental class totaling 32 students, and class VIII C as the control class totaling 32 students. The sample was taken using the Cluster Random Sampling technique with a lottery procedure. This technique is done because each class VIII SMP PGRI 2 Bandar Lampung has the same average ability. Students' mathematical problem solving ability is measured by a test in the form of an essay as many as 5 questions. After testing for normality and homogeneity, it is continued with hypothesis testing using t-test. From the results of hypothesis testing using statistical formulas, the value = 3.61. From the t distribution table at a significant level of 5%. Therefore, the application of the Mean Ends Analysis (MEA) learning model has a positive effect on students' mathematical problem solving abilities, so it can be concluded that "There is an influence of the Means Ends Analysis (MEA) learning model on the ability to solve problems. mathematics problems for grade VIII students of SMP PGRI 2 Bandar Lampung for the academic year 2021/2022".
